A group from the school, which caters for boys with a range of difficulties within the Autistic Spectrum of Disorders, was visiting the Blists Hill Victorian Town museum.

Matthew ran off after having an altercation with another pupil.

A police operation was launched to trace Matthew as soon as he was officially reported missing, at just after 4pm, and thankfully he was located safe and well near the museum at around 1am this morning.

He has now been returned to his family.

West Mercia Police have thanked everyone for their assistance and say they are especially grateful to the individuals who came forward and assisted with their search in and around Ironbridge last night.
