Five students have taken part in baking the cakes and selling them. There was a huge selection of cakes including Pudsey Fairy Cakes.
Louise Gregory Travel and Tourism Tutor said, ‘The travel and tourism course includes the module ‘Event Organisation in Hospitality’. This module requires the students to arrange their own event.
The class decided to host three separate events, including a fundraising activity for Children in Need. The students made their own arrangements for the day as well as baking the cakes and marketing the event. The students used time during the lesson to plan the event but completed a lot of the preparation outside of college time.
The cakes have been selling for between 20p and £1 today. Scott Hill commented, ‘It’s really nice to get involved with such a good cause. We’ve had a lot of fun organising the cake sale and staffing it today.’
Louise continued, ‘Their stall has been very popular in college today, the students did really well and raised over £63 for Children in Need.’
