Police are investigating after the robbery that occurred at an address on Crescent Road in Hadley on Friday.

At around 7.15pm, the victim – a 29-year-old Asian woman – heard a knock at her front door. She went to answer it and when she opened the door she was confronted by an unknown man with a small knife in his hand.

The man – who was wearing a hooded top and a face mask – pushed his way past the victim into her house and then entered the living room.

A police spokesman said:

“Once inside the house with the victim the man demanded the gold bangles she was wearing on her wrists. Initially the victim could not get the bangles off her wrists but the man went into the kitchen, grabbed some washing up liquid and used that to ease the bangles off the victim’s wrists.

“Once the man had possession of the bangles – which are thought to be worth more than £2000 – he spoke briefly to the victim before sprinting out of the property and away down a nearby alleyway.

“Although shaken by this incident the victim, who is six months pregnant, has been able to describe the man that forced his way into her house. He is described as being 5ft 8inches tall, of medium build and as wearing a long sleeved, light coloured hooded top, dark grey trousers and a pair of gloves. The victim also believes the man was Asian.

“Anyone who believes they may have seen the offender in Crescent Road, or who may have any information about this incident – no matter how insignificant it might seem, is asked to call officers in CID in Telford on 0300 333 3000.

“Alternatively, please remember that information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you’d rather not get directly involved yourself.”
