Around £10,000 worth of jewellery was taken by thieves after they forced their way into a property in Robin Lane in Edgmond some time between 12.15pm and 9.15pm last Friday.

Thieves forced entry to the home and carried out an untidy search of all of the upstairs bedrooms before fleeing with the jewellery.

After speaking to detectives the victim has managed to provide Police with a comprehensive list of items stolen.

Officers are now liaising with jewellery traders in case thieves try and sell the jewellery for cash.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: “It is believed thieves may try and sell the jewellery either locally, regionally or via the internet.

“We have spoken to a number of jewellery traders and provided them with details of the items stolen during the burglary.

“We would urge people to be aware and if they are offered any items of jewellery for sale in suspicious circumstances then please come forward.

“The victim is extremely upset as a lot of the jewellery was sentimental. She is desperate for the items to be returned.”

Items stolen include a heavy gold wedding ring, platinum diamond bracelet, an emerald and gold hinged bracelet, a Zenith round gold watch and bracelet strap, a 9 carat gold Spanish brooch in the shape of Menorca, cream feather earrings made of whale bone, a cocktail glass brooch, a 40th anniversary key ring, a half sovereign in a gold brooch, edelweiss brooch in ivory, a Venetian Swarvoski mask brooch in a box, giraffe tulip brooches in gunmetal, a star fish brooch, a large topaz gold ring and a Russian enamelled egg necklace.

Anyone with information about the jewellery or the break-in should contact Telford Police on 0300 333 3000. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
