The initiative will offer eight Shropshire-based designer-makers and producers the opportunity to take part in a supported retail pop-up showcase, culminating in a week-long event at Darwin Shopping Centre from 20th – 25th April 2026. Designed to support creative businesses ready to take their next step into physical retail, the programme provides free pop-up shop space, alongside a four-month package of retail, sales and marketing support. This includes a series of expert-led workshops and on-site mentoring to help participants build confidence, sharpen their offer and prepare for trading in a busy high-street environment.

Ruth Westwood, manager of the Shropshire Growth Hub said:

“The Shropshire Artisan Showcase is about creating real, long-term opportunities for our creative businesses. By combining high-profile retail space with structured training and hands-on support, we’re helping Shropshire’s makers and producers build the skills and confidence they need to grow sustainably and succeed beyond the showcase itself.”

The Darwin Shopping Centre has a strong track record of supporting independent businesses and local enterprise. Centre Manager Kevin Lockwood added:

“We are delighted to be working with the Shropshire Growth Hub and Buy-From on the Artisan Showcase. Supporting independent businesses is central to what we do at Darwin Shopping Centre, and we’re proud to offer both space and practical retail support to help these businesses thrive.”

Applications for the Shropshire Artisan Showcase 2026 open on 15th January 2026, with a closing date of 9th February 2026. Successful applicants will be selected based on creativity, originality and alignment with the programme’s objectives.
