The agreement establishes NWF Fuels as the sole supplier for the charity’s Oil Buying Club, which has now transitioned into the broader Community Energy Groups project. This collaboration aims to provide households across Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin with more affordable and reliable heating oil, alongside essential energy-saving support.

By moving to a single, trusted supplier, the charity intends to secure the most competitive rates available through group-negotiated pricing that typically outperforms individual market quotes. The partnership is designed to offer transparency and security for residents, particularly those in rural areas who depend on oil for heating. Members will receive monthly savings reports to track their benefits, and the service will prioritise reliable deliveries and emergency support for the most vulnerable households during periods of health or financial crisis.

Beyond fuel supply, NWF Fuels has reinforced the initiative by donating Warmer Winter Packs. These resources will be distributed to individuals who have already accessed the charity’s Warmer Winter Homes Grant Fund, providing them with practical items and guidance to improve home energy efficiency. The partnership also includes a commitment to community outreach, with NWF Fuels set to support future charity events and provide technical advice on matters such as oil tank maintenance.

Kelly Walker, Rural Services and Oil Buying Team Lead at Community Resource, welcomed the formal arrangement. She stated: “We’re excited to be working with NWF Fuels. This partnership, delivers exceptional value and dependable service for our members, alongside meaningful community support.”

Reflecting on the long-standing relationship between the two organisations, Dan Busby, Domestic Manager for NWF Fuels, added: “NWF Fuels have been working with Community Resource for many years to provide affordable heating oil to the communities they support, and we’re thrilled to make our partnership official. The team do amazing work in the local community, helping people stay connected and supported. By further joining forces we aim to support further, keeping homes and communities warm across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.”

The charity is now encouraging residents to join the Oil Buying Club to take advantage of these negotiated rates. Residents interested in the Community Energy Groups project can find more information or register for membership by visiting the Community Resource website or contacting their Shrewsbury office directly.
