Organisers are looking for trained junior dancers aged 7 – 12 who are under 5ft tall. Senior dancers aged 13 years and over and not under 5’3ft tall are also required.

Three girls and three boys are also being sought to play the roles of Jack and Jill. These are acting roles and the emphasis is on drama, so we are seeking very clear speaking voices. Applicants must be 7 years upwards and not exceed 5’ tall. Applicants will take part in a drama workshop on the day and given text by the director.

All dancers must be local to the theatre (within ½ hour’s travel) and be able to commit for rehearsals and performances from 28 November 2011 until 2 January 2012. Those auditioning must attend regular dance lessons in Ballet, Tap and Jazz following a recognised examination syllabus e.g. ISTD/RAD or IDTA.

Auditions will be held at The Oakengates Theatre at The Place on Sunday 4 September.

Registration for Seniors at 10am, Jack & Jill’s at 10am, Junior dancers at 12 noon. Please bring all relevant shoes and be prepared for stay for some time.

All successful applicants are subject to local education authority performance licensing. Parent chaperones will be required (Training will be provided).
