The 52-year-old man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham after his lift truck overturned in the collision with a tractor. He received serious arm and other injuries.
The collision happened at around 10.30am yesterday on the B4214 Knowle to Clee Hill road. It involved a blue New Holland tractor travelling from Knowle towards Clee Hill and the yellow JCB lift truck, travelling in the opposite direction.
The tractor driver escaped injury.
Police are still investigating how the two vehicles came to collide.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: “The collision happened on a straight stretch of road resulting in one of the drivers being seriously injured when his vehicle tipped over.
“We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened – either the actual collision or the circumstances leading up to it – to contact Ludlow or Shrewsbury police stations on 0300 333 3000.”
