As part of the ongoing promotion celebrations, staff at the solicitors firm were last week treated to a visit by AFC Telford United’s famous mascot, Bobby the Buck – who also brought along the impressive Conference North play-off trophy.

Michael Payne, partner at MFG Solicitors said: “The club’s promotion is great news for the whole of Telford and for Shropshire. We are honoured to be associated with the club and are delighted that the club have achieved Blue Square Premier status in the seven years since they were reformed. The club are now back to where they were and will be playing in a number of high profile matches next season which will not only see an influx of new visitors to the town, but will give local commerce a terrific boost. There’s no doubt that the promotion has created a buzz around Telford and put the club on a whole new level.

“We’ve built a strong relationship with AFC Telford United over almost seven years and I hope our donation to the club’s Supporter’s Trust will help fund some of the grassroots community initiatives they have planned for this summer and next season.”

Michael added: “It was a tremendous gesture by the club to bring the trophy for a tour of our Telford office and with the extra addition of an appearance from A-list celebrity mascot Bobby the Buck, it certainly made it a memorable day.”

Paul Riley, commercial manager at AFC Telford United, commented: “It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for the club and having partners such as mfg onboard help the club immensely. We are very grateful for the firm’s donation to our Supporters Trust as it will help towards running the club’s community programme as we move into an exciting season in the top tier of non-league football. Andy Sinton and the players cannot wait for next season to start.”
