The team began the epic journey at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, in Cornwall on Friday 3 June and have now covered close on half of the intended aim to cover 1000 miles in 10 days. The team will depart Gloucester on Wednesday 8 June and ride to their home base at Shawbury, arriving late evening. On Thursday morning the team will fund raise at the main gate at Shawbury before departure at 0800.
To date the team have visited Royal Navy Air Stations Culdrose, St Merryn, Treigga, Roborough, Haldon, Yeovilton, Portland and Sandbanks
The event is designed to give the team an insight into the history of the airfields they will be visiting whilst raising awareness of the Fleet Air Arm and the Royal British Legion. The team will be more than willing to meet veterans or news teams as they progress on their endeavour. All of the team members are Qualified Helicopter Instructors at the Defence Helicopter Flying School. As such they are responsible for the training of all Military Helicopter pilots for all 3 services. Many of them have previously served in was zones across the globe.
