About 10 police and community support officers attended the property in Park Meadow, Minsterley, at about 9am today.

Entry was gained and a man arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.

Two containers holding what is believed to be cannabis leaf were recovered from the property, along with items of drug paraphernalia.

Following the warrant, community support officers carried out reassurance patrols in the area.

Police Constable Jon Summerfield, Local Policing Officer for the Pontesbury and District area, said the warrant was carried out as a result of information received from various sources.

“All calls to police with information or concerns about suspicious activity will be logged and acted on appropriately,” he said.

“It is by passing this information on to police that we are able to build up our intelligence, which then allows us to take action on those suspected of being involved in drug related offences.

“Anyone who has concerns about people living in their area or who notes suspicious activity around properties or other locations should pass them to police on 0300 333 3000.

“Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if people have any concerns about being identified.”

The man arrested has been interviewed and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
