Tesco and Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life this morning took place at The Agricultural Showground on berwick Road.

Staff, students and dependents from RAF Shawbury are one group that took part with 63 ladies, ranging from 6 months to 72 years old all helping raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Mrs Jan Sheffield, who organised the team said, “I am really pleased that so many Ladies agreed to run for ‘Team Shawbury’ at the event. The ladies proudly wore the unit t-shirts, which will be donated to the Station football team who will hand them out in the slums of Kenya in June during their football tour on behalf of the RAF Shawbury based Taking Football to Africa and beyond appeal.”
