Man arrested after racist comments made at Telford v Leyton Orient match

A man has been arrested after racist comments were made at the Telford v Leyton Orient match on Saturday.

A 39-year-old from Woodside was this morning arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order and is currently in police custody.

The arrest comes after police yesterday said that racist comments were directed to towards a Leyton Orient player.

AFC Telford United confirmed that they had received several reports over the weekend of a number of incidents that took place both inside and outside the stadium.

The club said that it does not tolerate behaviour which brings its name into disrepute, and action would be taken wherever there is evidence.
