The Trust is hosting the event at the Shropshire Education and Conference Centre to showcase the new centre, which will benefit from major refurbishment and extension later this year.
At the event there will be presentations from the project architect and interior designer, who will unveil the plans for the exterior and interior of the building. There will also be the opportunity for people to find out more about the plans and ask questions.
The evening will also see the launch of two competitions, which will be open to all members of the public – one to design artwork to be displayed in the new building and the other to come up with a name for the centre.
Work is due to start on the centre in early summer, which will include a new reception area, outpatient unit for haematology and oncology patients and a day unit for chemotherapy and head and neck cancer patients.
Julia Clarke, Chair of the Centre Development Project Board, said: “We are really excited about the development of the Cancer and Haematology Centre. We are grateful to everyone who has shared their ideas and helped to shape the building and are looking forward to work starting in early Summer.â€
The development has been partly funded by almost £5 million in donations from the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre Appeal, The Shropshire Blood Transfusion Trust and other charities.
The event will be held from 6pm to 8pm at the SECC at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Mytton Oak Road, Shrewsbury.
