Festival organiser Ian Law: “Rock and blues music has a huge following in the area and this is a first for Shrewsbury, with its own Rock & Blues Festival, which we hope will become a regular date on the calendar”.

“We have a fantastic line-up and a wide range of rock & blues music from top local bands Cellas Fellas, Frank Savages, Otherside, Paul Henshaw, Rough Diamonds, The Broombusters and Weezel Diesel”.

All profits from the festival are in aid of ORCHID, the only UK registered cancer charity to focus entirely on the male specific cancers; prostate, penile and testicular. ORCHID funded work has seen important results in the recent past while awareness of these diseases is slowly improving.

Ian Law: “The UK has one of the worst survival rates in Europe, so ORCHID needs all the help it can get to raise the awareness of men’s cancers and we will be helping by selling raffle tickets with badges, wrist bands and T shirts to promote the Rock and Blues Festival and ORCHID.”

Organiser Ian Law lives in Shrewsbury and is Managing Director of Goldcrest Music who are promoting the event with the support of many local organisations. Ian is also known to scores of guitar players as a registered guitar tutor and plays in the local classic rock band Rough Diamonds.
