Firefighters from Oswestry and Ellesmere were called to a fire involving a washing machine at a home in Gobowen this morning.

The fire broke out at a property on Whittington Road at just before 11am.

Firefighters used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to put out the fire.

Positive pressure ventilation was used to clear the kitchen area which suffered smoke damage.
