Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident near Newport early this morning.
Police officers were called at 12.23am to a report of shots discharged in the Howle area.
A 23-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Howle, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and they remain in police custody at this time.
Police say a vehicle has been damaged, but no injuries have been reported.
Detective Inspector Robert Mountford from West Mercia Police said: “We understand an incident of this nature is going to cause concern for the local community; however, we do believe it is an isolated incident which may have involved an air rifle. Extra officers will be in the area today to offer reassurance to residents and talk to them about any concerns they may have.
