Joanne Harding, Director of Transformation at Shropdoc, has been selected to join Q – a new initiative aiming to support continuous improvement in the quality of care for patients.

Q is led by independent healthcare charity the Health Foundation together with NHS Improvement and is connecting people dedicated to improving the quality of care across the UK.

The initiative will make it easier for people with expertise in how to make things better from all the different organisations and patient groups that make up the health and care system to share ideas, enhance skills and collaborate.

In 2015, Q was designed by 231 people – including doctors, nurses, managers, commissioners, researchers, patients, policy makers and others.

Joanne Harding joins the growing community of now 447 members.

Ian Winstanley, Chief Executive of Shropdoc, said: “Joanne has over 30 years experience working as a Nurse within the NHS and is dedicated to continuous improvement of services to benefit both patients and staff.

“We are pleased to have Joanne working as part of the senior executive team within Shropdoc, where she is working across the local area with colleagues to share best practice, introduce innovative ways of working to support Shropdoc’s future as a provider of services across Shropshire and mid Wales.”

Joanne Harding, Director of Transformation, Shropdoc, said: “I am delighted to join the Q community to continue to share and learn from colleagues, which will ultimately provide improvements to patient care.

“I look forward to sharing progress across Shropshire with colleagues to support ongoing learning.”

Penny Pereira, Programme Director for Q at the Health Foundation, added: “By making it much easier for people to share best practice and collaborate, Q aims to help make sure everywhere in the UK can tap into the ideas and inspiration of others working to the same aim: so we can together deliver real benefits for patients wherever they live in the UK.”

Dr Mike Durkin, National Director of Patient Safety at NHS Improvement, said: “Q will boost the skills of its individual members, but also encourage a nurturing of talent and sharing of innovation and passion that will be vital as we build the capacity and capability of quality improvement across the NHS.”
