The 141st Minsterley Show is taking place today and promises to be a great day out for the family.

With the reputation as one of the county’s most prestigious shows, located on a site overlooked by the Stiperstones and bordered by the River Rea, the showground near Lea Cross is ideally situated for all and provides ample parking as well as a regular free bus service from nearby villages.

This year’s event sees the James Dylan’s Stuntworld Motorcycle Stunt Show perform in the main ring, one of the most experienced Stunt Team’s in Great Britain, with the latest motorcycles and a remarkable buggy.

The timetable of events is an action packed line-up and also includes Pony Club Mounted Games, the Supreme Horse Championships, The Grand Parade and The Driven Heavy Horses are a sight not to be missed. The Vintage Tractors & Classic Cars allow one to step back in time and an appearance from the South Shropshire Hounds and The Shropshire Beagles.

There is also various classes available – whether your interest is Horses, Dairy or Beef Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Poultry, Dogs, Vintage Tractors, Horticulture or Arts and Crafts – there is something for everyone.

The Village Green will be popular with younger visitors, attractions include Donkey Rides, Quad Bikes and the Circus Workshop and much more in the Childrens Arts and Craft Tent, plus entertainment from regular attendees including the Animal Man, Simon Aiery and Jack the Jester. There’s also the Children’s Races in the main ring and The Stiperstones Brass Band will be playing for everyone all afternoon.

No show would be complete without the Young Farmers. The Annual Float Competition is another favourite event for both the participants and visitors. Last year’s competition resulted in some very imaginative floats and was of course great fun for all involved. This year’s theme is Musicals, an exciting challenge with prizes on offer.

Entry prices to the show are £10 per adult, £5 per child and £25 Family ticket (per car) – 2 adults & up to 3 children.
