Drivers and pedestrians are being put in danger following the tampering of temporary traffic lights in Minsterley.
A three way traffic light system is in place at the junction of the B4387 and the Leigh Road where building work is currently being carried out.
West Mercia Police have had reports that the lights are being tampered with, signs removed and cones thrown into gardens mainly at weekends.
The traffic lights are being tampered with, so that they go out of rotation.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “All of these actions will cause annoyance and frustration to drivers and pedestrians. It will also endanger drivers and pedestrians.
“It may seem to persons who interfere with the equipment as a bit of a joke. However we would like to remind those persons, that it is an offence to interfere with directly or indirectly traffic equipment. The reality is that by interfering with that equipment you may well be putting drivers and pedestrians in danger.
“Road Safety in our rural villages is always on the top of our list. Traffic equipment is there to keep everyone safe from harm. Help us keep our roads safe. If you see any one moving or tampering with traffic equipment please call us on 101.”
