Police are appealing for witnesses after a 75-year-old woman died in hospital after colliding with a car in the Frankwell area of Shrewsbury on Saturday.

The incident occurred shortly before 4.30pm on Copthorne Road as a silver Vauxhall Corsa exited Frankwell Island.

It is believed the woman was crossing the road with her partner, a man in his 60s, from outside Mellor Cycles.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died on Sunday afternoon.

Anyone who witnessed the collision are asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 421s of 9 January 2016.
