Shrewsbury v Chesterfield

Shrewsbury are searching for their first win back in League One – and will be looking to secure three points when Chesterfield visit tonight.

Mickey Mellon could name the same eleven for the third game in a row. Mark Halstead made an unexpected return to the bench in the 1-1 draw against Bradford on Saturday – he is set to keep that position at the expense of Callum Burton. James Wesolowski has now resumed first team training – but will almost certainly not make the bench this evening. Knight-Percival is a couple of weeks behind fitness.

Chesterfield could include new signing Angel Martinez in their starting line-up. The Spireites signed the former Spain under 21 international from disordered Blackpool at the weekend. He is expected to replace Ollie Banks in midfield. Gboly Ariyibi is pushing for a recall, after his surprise omission in the 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United at the weekend. Striker Mani Dieseruvwe is suspended.

These two sides last met in January 2011 in a 0-0 stalemate. Town have not beaten Chesterfield at home since a 2-1 victory in February 2009. They have only won 11 of the previous 44 meetings with the Derbyshire based side – losing 18 of those games.
