Two adults and a child were injured this afternoon following a collision on the A41 near Hinstock.

The collision involving a car and a petrol tanker happened just before 3.40pm.

One person was trapped following the collision and released by fire service personnel.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The car driver, a man in his sixties, was found to have a reduced level of consciousness when crews arrived at the scene. He was stabilised and taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment.

“A four year old boy who was a passenger was treated for a facial laceration. The child was also taken to the same hospital.

“The lorry driver was treated for lower back pain.”

The A41 was closed to traffic following the collision.
