The talented eighteen year old has so far turned down two offers to stay at Shrewsbury – with Stoke and Wolves waiting in the wings.
Stoke are the latest team, to be linked with a move for promising winger Josh Ginnelly – after Wolves reportedly had a bid turned down for the former Aston Villa trainee. Interest in Ginnelly is intensifying, and although he has only made three senior league appearances for Shrewsbury – scouts have seen enough to be convinced that he has a bright future in the game. Any move for Ginnelly, is likely to include a season long loan back to Shrewsbury.
Manager Mickey Mellon, has admitted the pacey winger is ‘confused’ about his future. The former Barnsley manager said: “Josh is confused, there’s absolutely no doubt about that, his situation is ongoing and he’s still looking at his options, which he’s entitled to do and every player does.”
Meanwhile, soon to be out of contract forward Jean Louis Akpa-Akpro has been linked with a move to Plymouth Argyle. The French born striker has scored nine times for Shrewsbury in forty five appearances for the club.
